The Roman Castles

The Roman Castles area is set of small towns of the Alban Hills, South of Rome. The territory of the Roman Castles is of vulcan origin, there are two lakes and can be divided into three main areas: the area Tuscolana (Colonna, Frascati, Grottaferrata, Monte Porzio Catone, Monte Compatri, Rocca di Papa, Rocca Priora), the area Appia Albana (Albano Laziale, Ariccia and Castel Gandolfo) and the area Lanuvina (Lanuvio, Genzano di Roma, Nemi).

Bought by Scipione Borghese and amplified by Vasanzio and Girolamo Rainaldi. The shape is of U. The portico made by Vignola decorated with 5 eagles symbol of Borghese. The nympheum Flaminio Ponzio has 5 niches. Today is property of the University of Tor Vergata
