The Cathedral of Santo Eccehomo - Valledupar, Colombia

The architect Gustavo Vasquez, commissioned to design the new Cathedral of Santo Eccehomo - the largest church in Colombia - has created a space with modern architecture that maintains a strong religious identity. The lighting concept was developed taking into account the important role the Cathedral plays. The lighting design for the Campo dei Miracoli in Pisa was a real test. The difficulty lay in the number of “architectural objects” involved: the Duomo, Baptistery, Monumental Camposanto (cemetery), and Museum of Sinopias. To make sure each object was properly illuminated and highlighted, in-depth studies were required along with deep historical sensitivity and the ability to link the specific identities together through light. heritage lighting / monumental lighting / facade lighting
