Preventative dental sealants are a fantastic way to prevent cavities! Sealants protect the tooth by preventing bacteria from residing in the grooves of a tooth’s bite surface. In order to seal a tooth, it must be free of any decay (aka cavities). The tooth is cleaned and a plastic-like sealant material is flowed into the grooves. The sealant is then set by shining a bright blue light on it for several seconds. The process is done WITHOUT ANY SHOTS OR DRILLING and is pain free.
