Based on an Elio Vittorini novel, Sicilia! follows a Sicilian, Silvestro, who returns (presumably in the late 1930s) to Sicily after 15 years in the United States. At once a native and a stranger, Silvestro converses with the different people he meets about this homeland that is no longer exactly his home.
