Gorillas are the largest of the primates-the group of animals closest to humans. Gorillas can grow up to 2 meters in height, live for 50 years and the males are as strong as 6 human men!

The mountain gorilla inhabits the Virunga Mountains on the border of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Uganda. I can't wait to see the mountain gorilla on my next trip back to South Africa.
Gorillas are ground-dwelling, predominantly herbivorous apes that inhabit the forests of central Africa. The eponymous genus Gorilla is divided into two species: the eastern gorillas and the western gorillas, and either four or five subspecies.
