We designed, hammered and swirled 12 gauge brass wire to make this unique shawl pin. All the edges are smoothed so that it will not catch on your shawl. We named it the "Madonna Swirl Pin" because ever since a customer told us they see a mother holding a child in the design it's all I can see when I look at it. You can gently bend the outer edges of the main piece to create a looser or tighter fit with the pin. It can be worn as a brooch on a loosely knit garment. This pin would work best on a knit or crocheted open weave type garment and is not intended for tightly woven cloth fabric. All our jewelry comes wrapped in colorful tissue paper, in a nice gift box and tied with a bow ready for gift giving. The pin measures about 2 1/4 - 2 3/4" (5.8- 7.2cm) long and about 1" (2.6 cm) across the widest part. The stick pin part with the spiral on top that slips through the main loops and spirals design to secure the pin is about 3 1/8 - 3 3/4" (8 - 9.6cm) long. The brass wire used in this pendant is in it's natural form and not treated with a lacquer or wax. Brass naturally oxidizes over time and develops a patina.
