This painting is a copy of "Saint John the Baptist" by Leonardo da Vinci in Louvre. The dark background of the original masterpiece is changed into rocky landscape (which was popular among followers of Leonardo). Actually, it is said that Leonardo did a pseudo-portrait of Andrea Salai (Salaino, known also by name Giacomo Caprotti) in "St. John" painting.
