Queen Marie of Hanover was born Marie of Saxe-Altenburg (1818- 1907).   Marie was nearly all German, although she had one great-great grandfather who was king of the Netherlands and a great-great grandmother who was Anne, the Princess Royal of the United Kingdom.  Marie married well, her remote cousin, the blind prince George of Cumberland, and had three children with him.    Marie is seen here with her granddaughter Marie Louise.
