This is a silver headdress from the Lombardi region, called "Raggiera" or "Sperada," worn as a halo on the head from the 1600s through the 20th century. I do not collect Italian folk jewelry so I am very interested in more information or corrections. By hallmarks this piece was made between 1872 and 1930 and has an interesting story as it was collected in Ethiopia!
