Full size picture of Doublefile Viburnum, Japanese Snowball Bush 'Summer Snowflake' (Viburnum plicatum var. tomentosum) - Per Mona at Pine Hill, these are a good choice for the WH, low maintenance and deer don't eat them
It has white lacecap blossoms in early June, but continues to produce blossoms on new growth all summer into fall. It is especially striking in autumn, when the white blossoms are set off by foliage that takes on wine tones.
This suckering selection may need to be pruned to maintain its expansion, but Viburnum dentatum is a solid, low-maintenance selection otherwise. Viburnum leaf beatle is the primary pest that affects this mostly disease-resistant, pest-free plant.
