Cedar-Rib Canoe (996.1.1) at The Canadian Canoe Museum. 4.88 metres (16 feet). Built with the cedar-rib construction method, patented in 1879 by John Stephenson. The 'planking' is made of tongue and groove cear-ribs, running from gunwale to gunwale and held in place by the gunwales, battens and keelson.
