Race Rock Light is a lighthouse on Race Rock Reef, southwest of Fishers Island, New York. The reef is a dangerous set of rocks off the coast of Fishers Island on Long Island Sound and was the site of many shipwrecks.
The lighthouse is located in Fort Worden State Park, near Port Townsend. Point Wilson marks the entrance into the Puget Sound. It is the turning point from the Strait of Juan de Fuca into Admiralty Inlet.
The Cape Romain Lighthouse in South Carolina was established in 1827 and is now part of the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. Today, the remains of the original and replacement lighthouse "twin towers" are all that remain here at Cape Romain.
It's now used as a private retreat house for Coast Guard personnel, but is open to the public during the Lighthouse Walk in May.
