Northern Lights in the sky!

The northern lights, or the aurora borealis. The best place to see them is Churchill, Manitoba with auroral activity occurring more than 300 nights a year. On my list of places to go!

The most EPIC show of Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) for the Solar Maximum season 2012-13 happened on the night of March 16 - 17, 2013. A CME (Corona Mas Ejection) occurred on March 15, and it was expected to hit the planet. I was expecting a nice show, but never something like this. All that beauty and energy, as well all the excitement and the adrenaline of the chasing lights (for an aurora chaser like myself) blows my mind.

Iceland

This is what a monster solar storm looks like from Reykjavik! We certainly hit the aurora jackpot here in Reykjavik last night; all the people on Northern Lights tours must have been thoroughly enraptured.
