The use of slow shutter speed really works. This was one of my initial ideas when given the spots and stripes brief, to capture the shapes in a not so obvious way.

This photo was taken using a slow shutter speed. The photographer has captured the movement of cars on a very busy road quite well using a slow shutter speed/long exposure

HOMEMADE GOO GONE     1 teaspoon vegetable oil     2 teaspoons baking soda  Homemade Goo GoneCombine the vegetable oil and the baking soda in a small bowl.  It will be a somewhat thin mixture but not as thin as the real Goo Gone.  Dip the edge of a piece of paper toweling in the mixture and then rub over the sticky stuff you are trying to remove.  Keep doing this as needed.

Recently, I found a picture on Pinterest that suggested highlighting letters on paper then encouraging children to trace the highlighted letters.  I love it!  The dashes that are most commonly used are obtrusive and really don't encourage tracing, but highlighting works great.  Use this for teaching preschoolers to draw shapes, their name, and even for cutting activities
