Paul Klee (1879-1940) Vanaf 1921 gaf Paul Klee les aan het Bauhaus in Weimar. Op initiatief van Galka Scheyer ontstond in 1924 de kunstenaarsgroep Blaue Vier, die naast Paul Klee bestond uit de kunstenaars Wassily Kandinsky, Lyonel Feininger en Alexej von Jawlensky. Het viertal exposeerde vooral in de Verenigde Staten van Amerika. Paul Klee ging steeds kleurrijker schilderen, en maakte ook een stap in de richting van het abstracte. 1924
