The Quokka. Restricted To The South West Region Of Western Australia, Quokkas Are Found On The Mainland As Well As On Rottnest Island (Near Perth) Bald Island (Near Albany).

QUOKKA.....found in Australia....the size of a house cat....a length of 16 to 19 inches and a weight of 3.3 to 10 pounds....very friendly, curious, fearless, and playful....often called the "happiest animal in the world"....name comes from the Aboriginal language of the local Nyungar people...Nyungars called the creatures “gwaga”....the early European settlers interpreted this as “quokka”
