In a move that really challenges the notion of form-following-function, the Concertina’s design is driven more by form-follows-movement. Opening up like a Japanese fan, the chair uses angled “blades” to turn the fan into a chair. A zip on the back, and an elegant clasp on the front lock the chair in seating-mode. Once done, you can immediately collapse it back into a closed fan.

Mind you, if you're a Drawing student and you learn how to perceive negative-space, and you take into consideration your format (maybe by using a viewfinder) these will come naturally. But remember "Form follows function," and good design should 1) Capture attention 2) Hold attention and 3) Direct Attention and your compositions will have impact and be effective.
