Spitfire 1X BS456 at Northolt on 22 Aug 1943, after being transferred to 316 Sqn. It was piloted by F/Lt L Kurylowicz who shot down a FW-190 but was later shot down by another FW-190 near Rouen; he spent 5 days in his dingy before being rescued uninjured.

The spinner appears to be unpainted as is some of the paint work on the fuselage. Any more additional information is welcomed. Assigned to F/O Roland RS "Bob" Tuck, the aircraft was coded FZ-L until the outbreak of war in September 1939. By May, the original full-colour pre-war roundels had been reduced in size on the fuselage and wings.
