Stephan Schreiber's late gothic pattern book was produced in Urach in the (now) state of Baden-Württemberg in South-West Germany in It was dedicated to Count Eberhard (Eberhard the bearded, later first Duke) of Württemberg.
This is the short fable of The Wolf and the Dog. It shows that the wolf is willing to turn to the dog for help, but will not if it includes enslavement. This is a characteristic of wolves in most fairytales. They are not willing to be tamed.
