Price Realized: 287.50 APPALACHIAN RIB-TYPE PAINTED WOVEN SPLINT EGGBASKET, white oak, very finely woven kidney form with delicate double rim, arched handle featuring unusual stepped handle supports, and fancy over-woven base rib. Old dry oxidized gold paint over the original green paint. Probably Virginia or Maryland. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. 5 1/4" HOA, 3 1/2" H rim, 5" x 6" D rim. Provenance: From a 35-year Augusta Co., VA collection.
