Maj. H. P. 'Budge' Bell-Irving, OC DSO CBE OBC ED CD, of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, receiving his DSO from Gen Sir B. Montgomery in Sicily, 1943. Bell-Irving, who later became BC's Lieutenant Governor, was awarded the DSO for his exemplary leadership of 'A' Coy. during the capture of Agira, 26-28 July, 1943.
