*POMPEII, ITALY ~ Erotic Art was discovered in the ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum after extensive excavation began in the century. The city was found to be full of erotic art and frescoes, symbols, and inscriptions.

*POMPEII,ITALY~Stabian Baths - AD79eruption.The women's apodyterium,the best preserved room of the complex.As w/the men's dressing room,the walls are lined w/benches w/niches above.The flr of this vaulted room is composed of lozenge shaped reddish glazed tiles while the walls are coated w/ smooth white stucco.The women's baths had no separate frigidarium, but a large basin for cold baths was built at the west end of the dressing room to compensate.
