The fundraiser was promoting awareness of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North Dakota stopping the creation of the Dakota access pipeline. I am a part of the Solid Green club that helped organize the event. While there I listened to Yona FrenchHawk and multiple other performances as well as donating to the cause. Red Cloud (Lakota: Maȟpíya Lúta), (1822–1909) was a war leader and a chief of the Oglala Lakota (Sioux). He led as a chief from 1868-1909. One of the most capable Native American opponents the United States Army faced, he led a successful campaign in 1866–1868 known as Red Cloud's War over control of the Powder River Country in northeastern Wyoming and southern Montana. After signing the Treaty of Fort Laramie (1868), he led his people in the important transition to reservation life.

Red Cloud Perhaps one of the most capable warriors from the Oglala Lakota (Sioux) tribesmen ever faced by the US military, Makhpiya Luta, his Sioux name, led his people in what is known as Red Cloud’s War.
