Anna Petrović-Njegoš, Princess of Montenegro (18 Aug 1874 - 22 Apr 1971) was the seventh child and sixth daughter of Nicholas I of Montenegro and Milena Vukotić. While her sisters all made extremely advantageous marriages to powerful royal figures, she married Prince Francis Joseph of Battenberg; it was a morganatic marriage. They had to gain permission from Queen Victoria and the Russian court to marry. The lived happily, but had no children, and were very popular with their families.

King Nicholas of Montenegro was the first and only king of this principality which is today part of Yugoslavia.  He married, not a Royal, but a noblewoman of Montenegro with whom he had nine children.  Two of his daughters married Russian Grand Dukes, one daughter became the queen of Italy, one a princess of Serbia, and one a princess of Battenburg.   Nicholas's sons did not marry as well as their sisters.
