The rebellious nun, Mary MacKillop became Australia's first Roman Catholic saint on 17th October, 2010. She was revered for her work with children and established her first school in a disused stable and founded an order of nuns at the age of 24. By the time of her death in 1909, she led 750 nuns and ran 117 schools as well as several orphanages and refuges for the needy.
