An Extremely Rare Petronel from the 16th / 17th century (1600) A long wheel lock petronel or holster pistol in the Dresden style. The Pistol with a fruitwood stock inlaid with mother of pearl and horn plaques of grotesques and animals ending in a fluted pear-shaped pommel with an iron trigger-guard and the ramrod-pipes and fore-end cap each of engraved horn (ramrod and some mother of pearl and ivory replaced). Most likely German.
