The Great Indian Hornbill, native to South & SE Asia, is one of the larger members of the hornbill family at a weight of 5-9 lbs and 37-51” long, with a wingspan of 60”. A long-lived bird (50 years in captivity), it is predominantly frugivorous, but is an opportunist and will prey on small mammals, reptiles & birds. Like other hornbills, they have prominent eyelashes.
