The Grapes - Overlooking the Thames, in a peaceful neighbourhood not that far from the bustle of Canary Wharf, The Grapes is one of the oldest pubs in London. Charles Dickens was a patron, and even made reference to the pub in his novel 'Our Mutual Friend'. Leaseholder Ian McKellen has written a brief history, here, should you wish to find out more.

Maggie Jones is one of my favourite London restaurants, tucked away off of Kensington Church Street. While it may be a bit hidden, it's popular with those who know it, so book ahead. It can be difficult to get a table on the weekends. 6 Old Court Place, Kensington Church Street London W8 4PL
