Edvard Munch - Portrait of Nietzsche. Munch (1863–1944)[1] was a Norwegian painter and printmaker whose intensely evocative treatment of psychological themes built upon some of the main tenets of late 19th-century Symbolism and greatly influenced German Expressionism in the early 20th century. One of his most well-known works is The Scream of 1893.

The Starry Night / Vincent van Gogh / Saint Rémy, June 1889 / Oil on canvas / MoMa. Love this piece, one of my all time favorite works of art.

Edvard Munch, 1922-24, Starry Night This was one of my favourite pieces at the Tate Modern’s Munch exhibition this summer, entitled ‘Edvard Munch: The Modern Eye’. I love the mistiness to the paint application. The white merges together with the darker outlines, which creates ghostly wisps of grey across the canvas, indicating an other-worldly presence.

Starry Night - Edvard Munch, 1922 - I chose this painting because of the colours used. It's a true representation of a winter starry night.
