Mosaico Giustiniano e il suo seguito della Basilica di San Vitale. Giustiniano indossa un manto color porpora, simbolo dell'imperatore, alle orecchie ha tre pensagli (che simboleggiano la trinità), ai piedi le pantofole imperiali. L'espressione è anonima e al suo fianco si trova Massimiano, che rappresenta l'ultimo viso con le caratteristiche tipiche del ritratto romano.

She was a champion for women's rights instilling a death penalty for rape and giving women property rights. She was instrumental in making the empire a solid, sophisticated, strong force to be reckoned with.

A quick note on Theodora

Empress Theodora was one of the most influential and powerful women in the Early Middle Ages. She was the wife of Emperor Justinian I and joint ruler of the Byzantine Empire.Many decisions concerning the government were made by Theodora.
