Idle Moments. Charles Edward Perugini (Italian-born English, 1839-1918). Oil on canvas. The subject of this work is most likely the artist’s wife Kate Perugini, as depicted in Portrait of Kate Periguni and Portrait of Kate Dickens. She was the daughter of Charles Dickens. Kate Perugini is known to have sat for her husband on a number of occasions and also most famously for Millais in The Black Brunswicker (1860).
