The Bugatti is an airplane that might have tilted the balance of the air war during WWII if the Germans had found it. Bugatti designed a 500 mph computer-controlled airplane for the 1939 air race. The war broke out and he hid it from the Nazis.
An unfortunate Hellcat which had it's engine blown off. This catastrophic damage of this type is incredibly rare, indicating the engine was hit by a large calibre shell, probably or above. Somewhere in the Pacific, date unknown.
