Astronomer Nick Howes used the Tzec Maun Network to obtain this gorgeous image of Comet Lovejoy on Jan. The image was taken using the TOA 150 telescope and SBIG CCD at the Siding Spring Observatory in Australia.
Sporting a greenish coma and tail in this telescopic view taken on November Comet Lovejoy is about AU from our fair planet and AU from the Sun. The comet is having a photogenic Messier moment, sweeping past well known star cluster the Beehive in Cancer.
