Explore Red Wing, Cedar Waxwing, and more!

Cedar Waxwing - every Fall for a few days we have flocks of these that eat ALL the red berries in sight and then leave for the Winter. I've seen 30 on a bush at once and the berries disappear overnight.

Cedar waxwing by Mike Lentz Photography, I had one of these in my backyard last year.

The Cedar Waxwing is a member of the family Bombycillidae or waxwing family of passerine birds. It breeds in open wooded areas in North America, principally southern Canada and the northern United States. One of my favorite birds

Who said animals couldn't be included in "Gratuitous Beauty?" Look at the flow of this picture -- the lines and the movement captured in a single shot have a natural cadence that you can almost hear the lapping of the ocean against the shore and the powerful 'swoosh' of his wings.

Egret at sunset.rule of thirds draw the eye downwards from the sun onto the bird with horizontal lines forming a framework.soft and warm colours pleasing to the eye with a calming effect

Little birdie on a lotus..I like the bird's attitude :) like "Guys, GUYS!! Let's get the day started out right!!"

Always watching! Little birdy perched on a pink flower bud. The bud is bigger than the birdy! :) very sweet pic. Kind of like our kids, right?little person/bird compared to the big world around them.
