Orvieto Duomo  Constructed under orders of: Pope Urban IV,   Dates built: 1290-1607  Archictectural style: originally Romanesque, but transformed to Gothic.  Built to commemorate and to house the Corporal of Bolsena, a miracle performed in 1263 - a few miles from Orvieto.   Houses the Niccoline Chapel, which is full of the frescoes: "Christ in Judgment and Angels and Prophets," completed by Luca Singorelli, who was a huge inspiration to Michelangelo.

Orvieto Duomo Constructed under orders of: Pope Urban IV. The sculptures of the front could be done by an artist from Siena or by the main architect of the cathedral from 1310 to Lorenzo Maitani.
