THE DYATLOV PASS INCIDENT    The Dyatlov Pass incident resulted in the deaths of nine skiers in the northern Ural mountains on February 2,1959, on the east shoulder of Kholat Syakhl- meaning Mountain of the Dead. The mountain pass where the incident occurred has since been renamed Dyatlov Pass after the leader, Igor Dyatlov.  Soviet investigators determined that "a compelling natural force" had caused the deaths.Access to the area was barred for skiers & other adventurers for 3 years…
