Halloween spell book from a old dictionary. Spell pages in Printshop and distressed them to make them look old and well used. Turned the corners of the book and sprayed random pages with a water. Used brown ink to make it look older.
Spider-Filled Front Yard: Secure a skeleton to the ground with rebar; use monofilament to pose the arms. Create a swarm of spiders with inexpensive plastic foam balls and chenille stems; secure to the ground with wired florist's picks.
"broken windows" : take frosted contact paper and cut it apart to look like fractured glass. The semi-transparent frosted contact paper takes on the appearance of the "glass" while the actual glass pane (which is transparent) disappears.
