Early 1700's. This pocket consists of two unbound and unlined fronts of twill weave linen, partially sewn together, one incomplete. Both are embroidered in chain stitch with flowers, stems and leaves in coloured wool. There are no ties. It is not known why these pocket fronts are assembled in this unusual way.
