Belanca Aircruiser vs. Cessna Caravan, 80 Years Apart - in 1928, Giuseppe Belanca designed and built such an aircraft, the Belanca Airbus, Aircruiser and C-27. This massive aircraft had a wingspan of 68 feet, was able to seat 17 people in its Air Bus configuration, had a 675-hp round engine and was able to carry huge loads at a respectable 144 knots, all this in1928. Belanca only made 28 of them, mostly to order.
