Almirante Latorre, was a super-dreadnought battleship built for the Chilean Navy. She was the first of a planned two-ship class that would respond to earlier warship purchases by other South American countries. Soon after the ship was ordered in November 1911, and was approaching completion when she was bought by the United Kingdom's Royal Navy for use in the First World War. She served in the Grand Fleet as HMS Canada for the duration of the war and saw action during the Battle of Jutland.

Displacement 925t, 205ft long, 33ft beam and 11.5ft draught. Powered by 1 x double acting triple expansion recip steam engine to a single shaft giving 16 knots. Crew 85,Armament 1 x 42 gun, 2 x depth charge rails(later vessels would also have 2 x DC Throwers). Lost on Atlantic Convoy duty on the night of 15th June '41, cause unknown and no survivors.
