A GIFT FROM THE SEA: AIR, X  Yasuko Iyanaga    This tie-dyed textile, made of spun silk and wire by Yasuko Iyanaga, was inspired by sea creatures and the colors created on the surface of the ocean by the sun. It was included in the Japan Society’s Fiber Futures: Japan’s Textile Pioneers, a recent exhibition showcasing contemporary Japanese artists who transform fabric into sculptures, pictures, and emulations of nature.
