24 hours in the gorgeous Italian city of Venice. Holidays to Venice will not dissappoint. Ride on a gondola, eat vongole by the Rialto Bridge, experience life in the water city, marvel at the architecture. Venice, the perfect spot for a holiday.

Italian engineering company SBK Engineering has produced an innovative backpack which converts a bicycle into a water-bike within 10 minutes. Pedal powered prop, and pedal powered pump that inflates the pontoons. This is brilliant. I so want one! :-)

Milwaukee Public Market on Water Street. nice, small (mostly food, fresh, drink and dine) shopping experience downtown. Slightly highfalutin -but high quality for sure. Best Italian Sausage I've ever had, from "Nehrings market"

Venice. I went here twice, once around age 11-ish, once at around 16. It really stands out in my my memory because it's just such an interesting and one-of-a-kind place. I wish so often that Nick and I could drop life's obligations and constraints and do stuff like wander around and soak up Venice whenever we wanted (and a laundry list of other places, too, but Venice is high on the list).

Venice Canal | Venice, capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a marshy lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. Its stone palaces seemingly rise out of the water. There are no cars or roadways, just canals and boats. The Grand Canal snakes through the city, which is filled with innumerable narrow, mazelike alleys and small squares.
