Bothrops alternatus is originally from #Central and #SouthAmerica. #Bothrops are responsible for more human deaths in #America than any other group of #venomoussnakes. These snakes are small; no more than 20–28 in to large at over 6.6 ft in total length. Most of these #snakes are identified by having a sharp canthus rostralis and an unelevated snout. At present, 32 species are recognized.
