AN EAST GREEK GOLD AND CARNELIAN SCARAB FINGER RING   ARCHAIC PERIOD, CIRCA LATE 6TH CENTURY B.C.   The plain hoop oval in section with conical terminals, joined to the scarab by a plain wire threaded through the perforations of the stone and the terminals and coiled spirally along the hoop, the scarab carefully detailed, the underside engraved with the head of a roaring lion, his open mouth revealing fangs and a lolling tongue, a forepaw extending forward, enclosed within a hatched border

This "Bust of Augustus' dates back to about 75 after Christ, it probably made in Rome. Auguste wears the crown of oak leaves, falling strips of the head and spreading over to the front shoulders whose left shoulder is draped. Eleven small holes on the crown suggest that it was adorned with acorns or gold leaf.
