Quackenbush Convertible Air Rifle – Let’s go to Herkimer, NY for the Quackenbush No. 5. This Rifle serves as an air rifle, but also gives the capability of shooting .22 rimfire ammunition as well.  The removable firing pin needed for fixed ammunition was usually stored in the stock’s handy patchbox. Quackenbush’s air rifle manufacturing began in 1876 and lasted until 1943, but the last fourteen years of that period were said to primarily be devoted to assembly of existing parts on hand.
