ABC Order Lesson~ Try word stick centers. Write groups of words on Popsicle sticks, place each set of sticks in a separate container, and then have students sort words before writing them in the correct order. Use with word wall or sight words.

Would this work for ABC order? What a wonderful way to practice!

LOVE this idea for an alphabetical order center! Just takes a paint stick and clothespins! Each week can be a new set of words. Could be used for numerical order too using number and word on one side, dots on back to represent.

Worth trying... Did you know that placing a red dot in the middle of words can help children see the whole word? Try it for students who just look at the beginning of words and then guess.

Thanks to brain specialist Fritz Mengert, I learned how to use a red dot in my reading instruction. Mengert told me that placing a red dot in the center of a word helps kids focus on the middle rather than just the beginning.
