Chiharu Shiota was meant to be a painter. Then, during her second year of art school in Japan, she fell out of love with the medium she had been intent on mastering.

Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota creates eerie and poetic installations with black strings that look like giant cobwebs, interconnecting objects in a dream like scene.
