Dram Glass, c1700. "A Georgian baluster glass owes its existence to the slower cooling lead  crystal developed at the Savoy glass house. The glass was not suited to the production of the earlier Venetian styles with thin and light funnel shaped bowls" (Scottish Antiques)

A classic "Heavy Baluster" dram glass dating to English lead, it has thick round funnel bowl with a solid section at the base above a large teared ball knop with a plain section below.

A glass with gadrooned cup bowl, of the type usually called 'mead', whatever its stem, which may be in any of the Georgian styles, except perhaps facetted. In this instance, the stem is a single series opaque twist, and the foot is folded, adding further to the glass's rarity.

We have an early Baluster Deceptive Toastmasters Dram glass which dates to 1700. It has a highly deceptive conical bowl over a teared Inverted Baluster Knop with a conical folded foot. English lead, no chips cracks or restoration, it measures 4 ¾ inches tall with a 1 13/16th inch bowl and 2 3/16th inch foot.
