While preparing for a family group photo in 1899, the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna of Russia discovers the camera and point it out to her older sister, Queen Alexandra of the United Kingdom. Meanwhile their nephew, Prince George of Greece, is jumping over the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of King Christian IX who are waiting for the photograph to be taken.

Queen Victoria, with her daughter Princess Beatrice (standing), her grand-daughter Princess Victoria of Battenberg (nee, of Hesse and by Rhine) and her great-granddaughter Princess Alice of Battenberg.  Little Alice went on to marry Andrew of Greece and Denmark and became the mother of Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh and consort of Queen Elizabeth II.

King Edward VII with his grandson Prince Alexander of Denmark, the son of his daughter Princess Maud. Maud's husband, Prince Carl of Denmark, became king of Norway in 1905 and adopted the name Haakon VII. Little Alexander then became Crown Prince Olav.

A very young and lovely portrait of TRH Crown Prince Edward and Princess Alexandra (later King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra).  Alexandra is my closest cousin in the Windsor line, except for the Duke of Edinburgh (both are fellow descendants of King Christian IX of Denmark).

She married Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) on March 10, 1863. She was crowned Queen Consort of the United Kingdom with Edward VII on August 9, 1902.
