Old Cook County Hospital 1857-2002 - was once the largest hospital in the United States. This was also a home to this country's first blood bank in the 1930s.

The old Cook County Hospital, 1835 W., closed in The Cook County Bureau of Economic Development is now soliciting ideas for the potential mixed-use redevelopment of the old hospital building.
